Located south of Cape Meares on the Oregon Coast, Oceanside is a small resort town that was used the U.S. Army during World War II.[1] The town also served an a base for elements of the 104th Cavalry Regiment, which performed various defense duties on the Oregon coast during the war.

The body of Harry Pond was found on Short Beach north of the camp.
