Located on Cape Meares, the Oceanside Army Camp was formally a tourist resort that fell on hard times due to the Great Depression. At the start of World War II, the U.S. Army established a training camp here.[1]
The body of Harry Pond was found on Short Beach, about a mile north of Oceanside.
